For the 2025-26 academic year, the Federal Department of Education has announced a delay in the release of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The customary opening date of October 1 was postponed, and the newly expected FAFSA open date is December 1, 2024. This applies to all schools, not just to FPU.

In 2024-25, the FAFSA had the most significant redesign of the federal student aid application and delivery in decades, and has significantly simplified how students, parents, and other educational stakeholders use the FAFSA form. The Student Financial Services Office at FPU is committed to helping you navigate all the changes the federal government is making and will work hard to get you your financial aid package in a timely manner once information from the FAFSA has been transmitted to us.

Please contact sfs@fresno.edu if you have questions or for more information.

Financial aid is the only reason I am in school. I have been fortunate enough to have financial aid cover all of my schooling because I cannot afford it on my own. When I met with a financial advisor, he was helpful and answered all my questions!
